These pages tell the story of our relationship with a Pacific Baza (Aviceda subcristata) also known as Crested Hawk or Cuckoo-Falcon. We live in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Queensland, Australia. In March '99 I brought home 'Baza' who seemed to have lost his or her way, although we feel it's a him, so 'he' from now on, on his maiden flight and his parents weren't to be seen. He landed at a friends place and was distressed & hungry so my friend called me over to help. I took the bird home because it seemed too young to look after itself. After four days confined in the house and giving it plenty to eat I let it go and it has been around ever since, learning more tricks each day. We are now well and truly in love with this bird and we have put up these pages to share our enjoyment. If you have been here before you may want to read the latest Baza News or leave a comment in the Guest Book. Otherwise you should go through the slides meet Baza, read the unfolding story and watch him develop. Last photo to date - July 2000
